Other Interests

I am also interested in digital photography. Altering existing photos as well as creating original digital artwork is a lot of fun.

This photo shows some of my family members. I have digitally altered a regular SLR negative so that my picture appears on my grandson's t-shirt.

My other grandson was not in the original picture so I added him to the group.

In the original photo, my grandaughter on the far left had her eyes tightly closed so I altered that part of the picture as well.

A Little Bio

I taught elementary school in Winnipeg for 31 years. Upon retirement in 1998 I pursued my lifelong interest in art forms by studying Fine Arts full time at The University of Manitoba.

In 2004, I received a BFA(hons) degree at the U of M after studying Art History, Printmaking, Ceramics and double majoring in Drawing and Photography. A thesis in Photography completed my degree requirements.

Presently I work in four areas of interest.

1. Fine art photography images, which are mostly organic in nature.

2. Acrylic paintings, which involve various media sometimes using my own home-made paper as a basis for my work.

3.The Digital art is an outcome of my interest in computers.

4. Papermaking

In my Acrylic art, palette knives as well as found objects and brushes are used to apply paint and to outline passages. My work in this area is an exploration of, color, texture, line and form, which suggests a personal interchange between artist and materials rather than a particular record of a certain image.
